Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council Denies Rumors of Ouyang Nana’s Citizenship Cancellation
Taipei / Comprehensive Report: Online rumors allege that artist Ouyang Nana faced cancellation of her citizenship and a lifelong ban on entry for retweeting statements supporting unification with China. As of yesterday afternoon at 6 PM, a related YouTube video has garnered 146,000 views. In response, the Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) has issued a clarification.
The MAC stated that relevant cases are currently under legal investigation, and that there are no actions being taken against the artist as described in the video, such as 'international cancellation' or 'entry bans'. They emphasized that the video's content is false, maliciously fabricated, and aims to undermine public trust in the government.
