Prophecies of Disaster Lead to Cancellations by Taiwanese Travelers to Japan, Meteorological Agency Urges Not to Believe Rumors

According to Taiwanese media reports, the author Ryuju Ryo's work "The Future I Saw" predicts a major earthquake and tsunami to occur on July 5, 2025, which has instilled fear in many individuals, prompting several Taiwanese groups to cancel their hotel reservations in Japan. Hotels in Kanazawa are facing a decline in guests.
Recently, tourism operators in Ishikawa Prefecture reported that fears triggered by the impending prophecy have led to a significant reduction in tourists from Taiwan and Hong Kong, which traditionally make up about 20 percent of visitors. Reports indicate that all group bookings from Taiwan scheduled for July 2 to 5 have been canceled, and reservation rates are noticeably lower than in previous years.
The Japan Meteorological Agency has reminded the public that current scientific technology cannot accurately predict earthquakes, urging citizens to refer to official scientific information rather than unsubstantiated rumors.
