Trump Responds to US Considering $30 Billion Nuclear Deal with Iran

According to three insiders, the Trump administration is recently considering an economic incentive plan to persuade Iran to halt uranium enrichment activities. This proposal could potentially include the release of billions of dollars in frozen Iranian assets and allow neighboring countries to assist Iran in establishing a civilian nuclear power program, with a total potential value of up to $30 billion.
Reports indicate that this is just one of several options, but if implemented, it would mark a significant policy reversal for Trump since withdrawing from the Obama-era Iran nuclear deal in 2018. Trump had previously criticized the agreement, claiming it provided Iran with a "lifeline of cash" and fostered its malign activities.
In response to media reports about the Trump administration considering this proposal, Trump took to Truth Social on Friday night to refute it, stating, "I've never heard of this ridiculous idea; it's another scam of fake news." On the same day, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei publicly declared that Iran had "won" its conflict with Israel and downplayed the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, which triggered Trump's discontent.
Trump questioned, "How can this so-called 'Supreme Leader' foolishly claim to have won the war?" He noted that in recent days he had considered lifting some sanctions to assist Iran's rapid recovery, but Khamenei's statements made him feel insulted. Trump wrote, "Sanctions are working, but I am facing anger and hate attacks."
Despite his public criticism, Trump later indicated in a meeting with African foreign ministers that Iran still wishes to meet with him. He emphasized, "They do want to see me, and we will handle it swiftly." Trump added that Iran's actions are difficult under severe sanctions, stating, "Of course they want to see me; they are not stupid."
