Hualien Residents Rally for the Removal of Fu Kun-Chi at Taiwan Frontline Outdoor Event
The political commentary program Taiwan Frontline hosted an outdoor event in Hualien on Sunday, attracting over a thousand attendees. Many local residents voiced their support for the removal of Fu Kun-Chi, chanting slogans and waving flags.
A retired university professor stated that supporting Taiwan equates to removing Fu Kun-Chi, emphasizing the need for him to understand who the true owner of the land is. Host Hsu Chung-Kiang called for civic awakening in Hualien, asserting that this movement could lead to a successful recall.
Local citizens stressed the importance of successfully recalling Fu Kun-Chi, warning that failure could result in the loss of Hualien’s sovereignty. Another retired professor reiterated that this movement is not based on hatred, but on the defense of democracy.
