Danish Wind Power Giant Ørsted Exits Taiwan, 470 Workers Laid Off

Danish wind power company Ørsted has announced its exit from offshore wind projects in Taiwan, resulting in approximately 470 workers being laid off and operations halted.
Ørsted cited the primary reasons for its withdrawal as the challenges facing Taiwan's wind power market, including regulatory uncertainties and high construction costs. The company stated that this decision will allow it to focus resources on other more promising regions.
The Taiwanese government has indicated it is reviewing relevant policies to attract more foreign investment and promote renewable energy development.
