Kitakyushu Mayor Kazuhisa Takeuchi's First Visit to Kaohsiung Signs City Cooperation Agreement

Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-Mai (right) and Kitakyushu Mayor Kazuhisa Takeuchi (left) of Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, signed the 'City Cooperation Agreement' on July 1-2, and witnessed the signing of the 'Marathon Friendship Exchange Memorandum'. This visit highlighted collaborative opportunities in smart cities, trade, tourism, and sports between the two cities.
Kitakyushu, the second-largest city in Kyushu, has a similar developmental history to Kaohsiung, and both sides express expectations for cooperation in semiconductors and smart innovations. Mayor Takeuchi was impressed by Kaohsiung's cultural vitality and potential for innovation, looking forward to further collaboration.
During the visit, the mayors exchanged unique souvenirs; Chen assembled a rocket-shaped chocolate designed by Kitakyushu, while Takeuchi sampled Kaohsiung's bubble tea, creating a lively atmosphere.
