Russian Navy Deputy Commander Killed in Ukrainian Missile Strike

Reports indicate that Russian Navy Deputy Commander Major General Mikhail Gudkov was killed during a military operation at a command post, struck by a missile from Ukraine. Gudkov, who was appointed as deputy commander in March 28, 2025, is among the highest-ranking Russian military officers to die since the start of the war in February 2022.
The incident occurred in the Sumy region of Ukraine, where Gudkov was leading the naval marines. Ukrainian forces reportedly used an American-made HIMARS missile to target a command post in Russia's Kursk region, resulting in the deaths of Gudkov and other soldiers and officers.
