Japanese Teen Abduction Scandal Shocks Society, Government Calls for Increased Protection of Minors
The Osaka Prefectural Police recently uncovered a heinous case of underage abduction and prostitution, where two runaway high school girls, aged 16 and 17, were lured and forced into sex work by three men. One victim serviced 100 clients in just ten days, averaging ten clients a day, while the other was forced to meet 45 clients in five days.
The police arrested the main suspect, 26-year-old Kaito Takimoto, along with two accomplices under the Prostitution Prevention Law, suspecting a larger criminal organization may be involved. The suspects targeted runaway girls in the busy Dotonbori area, employing strategized methods to lure victims.
The suffering endured by the girls was severe, as they were subjected to enforced schedules packed with prostitution, having faces buried in horror through a living hell. The exposure of this case has prompted public outrage across various sectors in Japan, with calls for reforms in the protection of minors.
