Israeli Embassy Couple Shot in Washington, Groom-to-Be Bought Engagement Ring
A shocking shooting incident in Washington, D.C., has left two Israeli embassy employees dead, and reports reveal they were a couple, with the male having just purchased an engagement ring. The shooting occurred as the couple was leaving an event at the Capital Jewish Museum around 9 PM, when they encountered the assailant and were tragically shot.
Washington D.C. Police Chief Pamela Smith stated that despite all efforts to save them, the victims succumbed to their injuries. The shooter has been identified as 30-year-old Elias Rodriquez from Chicago, Illinois.
Israeli Ambassador to the U.S., Yechiel Leiter, expressed condolences, noting the couple was set to get engaged, with the male planning to propose in Jerusalem next week. President Trump condemned the act, describing it as terrorism motivated by anti-Semitism, and expressed his sorrow for the victims’ families.
