Shaun Norris Takes Commanding Lead at Japan PGA Championship, Eyes Career Grand Slam

South African golfer Shaun Norris showcased an exceptional performance in the Japan PGA Championship, finishing the day at Sanko Golf Club Japan Course with a remarkable score of 61, 11 strokes under par, achieving a commanding 6-stroke lead.
After trailing Yuta Sugiura by 4 strokes yesterday, Norris seemingly switched gears today, starting from the 10th hole and igniting a fantastic run with five consecutive birdies. His total score now stands at 129, 15 strokes under par.
Norris excelled with his second shots and made several crucial putts from 10 to 15 feet, and even scored hole-in-one on two occasions. The competition isn't just Sugiura anymore, as Japanese player Kosuke Suzuki is hot on his trail.
At 43 years old, Norris, who began his career in the South African tours and made waves in the Asian Tour, aims to become the seventh player in history to complete the career grand slam on the Japan Golf Tour if he secures victory this weekend.
