57-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Jeffrey Kok Fulfills Dream at World Games

At 57 years old, Malaysian archery coach Jeffrey Kok participated in the World Games, achieving a score of 607 and ranking 7th in the men's compound bow 50+ individual qualification round. Recently completing 12 rounds of chemotherapy and 2 surgeries, Jeffrey chose to compete, cherishing his limited time and wanting to pursue his dreams.

With a diverse background in petroleum engineering, Jeffrey worked in multiple countries before deciding to open an archery club in Shenzhen in 2016. His club brought multiple members to Taiwan for the event, with Pua Yu Min achieving a remarkable 3rd place in the women's compound bow 30+ qualification round. "Seeing my students find confidence and change their lives through archery gives me a sense of achievement," he said.

This is Jeffrey's first visit to Taiwan for competition, and he noted the unique atmosphere, despite dietary restrictions following his chemotherapy.
