Taiwanese Man, 66, Missing in France Found Safe After Son's Social Media Appeal

A 66-year-old Taiwanese man, Mr. Lin, went missing during a trip to France. After his son made a public appeal on social media and the tourism bureau assisted in the search, he was found safe on the evening of the 26th. Family members reported that the elderly man was in good health, bringing relief to his anxious relatives.
According to reports, Mr. Lin was traveling with his wife, aunt, and uncle, having embarked on a Mediterranean cruise trip on May 20, with plans to return to Taiwan on May 31. Unfortunately, at around 11 AM local time on the 24th, he lost contact after disembarking from the cruise near the King Rene Fountain.
His son took to social media Threads on the evening of the 25th to seek help, providing details about his father's appearance and belongings, including a gray jacket, blue jeans, and a gray crossbody bag with a bee pattern. The tourism bureau was notified and promised to assist in the search. After approximately 24 hours of anxious waiting, Mr. Lin's son reported good news on Threads around 9 PM on the 26th, thanking everyone for their help and confirming that his father was safe and unharmed. He emphasized that without the attention and sharing from the public, it would have been difficult to find his father so smoothly.
This incident garnered significant public interest, highlighting the crucial role social media plays in emergency search cases.
