Tailless Alligator Slowly Crosses Road, Woman Mistakes It for Large Dog

In Louisiana, USA, a woman recently encountered a tailless alligator slowly crossing the road while driving, initially mistaking it for a large dog. The woman, Ashlyn Bartholomew, was picking up her child from baseball practice when she spotted the injured alligator and captured the moment on video, sharing it on social media.
Bartholomew exclaimed, "What is that?" as she filmed the alligator, which staggered across the road without its tail. Experts suggest that the alligator likely lost its tail during a fight with another alligator but still possesses remarkable resilience to survive. The incident occurred on May 19 along Highway 23 in Plaquemines Parish.
