Haribo's Cola Gummies Found to Contain Cannabis; Taiwanese Health Authority Bans German Imports

The well-known bear-shaped gummy brand Haribo has recently discovered that a cola-flavored gummy was found to contain cannabis in the Netherlands, resulting in some children experiencing symptoms such as dizziness after consumption. Although there are no records of these products being imported into Taiwan, the Taiwanese health authority has decided to temporarily suspend all import applications for Haribo products from Germany to ensure public safety.
The Happy Cola series from Haribo has various packaging specifications, and the affected product, Happy Cola F!ZZ, has been confirmed to contain cannabis in the Netherlands, leading to its recall by authorities. Experts state that children are more susceptible to cannabis effects compared to adults, which may lead to confusion or drowsiness.
Lin Chinh-fu, deputy director general of the health authority, indicated that Taiwan will halt the acceptance of all gummy product import applications from Haribo in Germany until the manufacturer completes its investigation and mitigates any risks, after which imports can resume.
