Chen Ying's Recall Effort Fails, Calls for Zhu Lilun to Apologize Publicly

The second stage of the recall effort for DPP lawmakers Chen Ying and Wu Lihua failed as the necessary signatures were not submitted. Chen expressed that this outcome is a victory for democratic processes and a defense of the dignity of Indigenous peoples.

In response to KMT Chairman Zhu Lilun's remarks, Chen stated that these comments are a shameless insult to the democratic competence of Indigenous peoples and a blatant desecration of their ancestors. She accused the KMT of unethical practices in the signature collection and demanded that Zhu and Hu Jienting publicly apologize to the Indigenous peoples and take legal and political responsibility.

Chen also expressed her gratitude to KMT members who are concerned about Indigenous rights, stating that their decision to return or discard the recall signatures exemplifies cross-party solidarity. She reaffirmed that the position of Indigenous lawmakers is a fortress for the rights of their people and pledged to fight for their interests.
