South Korea's Election Votes Being Counted! Lee Jae-myung Leads by Less Than 3%

Today (3rd), the South Korean presidential election concluded voting at 8 PM local time, with vote counting currently underway. As of now, 20.24% of the votes have been counted. Lee Jae-myung, the candidate from the Democratic Party, has a vote percentage of 47.70%, while Kim Moon-soo from the People Power Party has 44.10%, a gap of about 3 percentage points.

According to exit polls conducted by three major Korean TV stations, Lee is projected to receive 51.7% of the votes, while Kim is expected to get 39.3%, increasing the likelihood of Lee's victory. However, after the official counting began, the numbers show a tough competition, with Lee currently leading but without the clear advantage that exit polls suggested.

Additionally, reformist candidate Lee Jun-suk has announced his defeat, with exit poll estimates giving him a 7.7% vote rate. Lee expressed that he does not regret not joining Kim Moon-soo in the election, urging conservatives to focus on innovative measures for voter engagement rather than mere integration.
