New Taipei Woman Biker Injured by Falling Rocks, Incident Linked to Heavy Rain

Emergency reports indicate that users of the roads should be wary of heavy rain! Around 6 PM today (18th), a traffic incident occurred in New Taipei City's Sanxia District along Route 7A, where a 29-year-old female biker named Zhang was riding her motorcycle and was struck by falling debris from a hillside, causing her to lose balance and fall to the ground. Fortunately, she was taken to the hospital by emergency services with no serious injuries.
It is reported that while riding along Route 7A at the 3.9 km mark, Zhang was suddenly hit on the helmet by rocks tumbling from the hillside, prompting her to fall. Bystanders quickly rushed to help her and inquire about her condition. Emergency responders arrived promptly, cordoned off the area to manage traffic, cleared the debris, and transported her to En Chu Kong Hospital for treatment, where she was determined to have no serious injuries.
The Central Weather Bureau has warned that due to active convection, heavy rain is expected in the New Taipei area, issuing a heavy rain advisory; the rocks that struck Zhang are suspected to have fallen due to soil erosion caused by heavy rain.
