Lee Jae-myung Sworn in as South Korean President

Lee Jae-myung was sworn in as the new president of South Korea on the 4th at the National Assembly. The candidate from the Democratic Party won the election with a vote share of 49.42% and officially commenced his term at 6:21 AM local time on the same day.
Before the ceremony, Lee visited the National Cemetery and held his inauguration ceremony at the National Assembly Plaza. The police deployed 23 riot control teams, with approximately 1,500 officers for security.
Lee will temporarily work at the Yongsan presidential office until the presidential office is relocated back to the Blue House. The command authority of the South Korean military was also transferred to him from the acting president, Lee Joo-ho.
He also spoke with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, praising the military for its passive handling of unjust orders during the state of emergency last December out of loyalty to the people and the nation.
This election was held early due to the impeachment of former president Yoon Suk-yeol. Lee garnered 17,287,513 votes, making a record despite not exceeding former president Park Geun-hye's percentage.
In addressing voters, Lee assured them that he would fulfill the significant responsibilities entrusted to him without letting them down.
