Trump described the call as 'very good,' though he did not mention Taiwan, focusing instead on the recently reached complex trade agreements.
Xi's earlier statement included a mention of Taiwan, urging the U.S. to view the progress realistically and to lift negative measures against China. He also warmly invited Trump and his wife Melania to visit China. The discussion was primarily about trade and avoided topics like the Russia-Ukraine issue or Iran.
Trump indicated on his social platform Truth Social that the two sides would soon meet, mentioning members of his team would be present for the future discussions.
