Top Student's Acceptance Revoked: 74 Score in Medical School and Appeals Allowed Within 10 Days

A top high school student in Taichung scored 74 in the entrance exams but faced a situation where all four of their medical school acceptances were revoked. China Medical University quickly decided to withdraw the student's admission and informed them that they could appeal within 10 days if unhappy with the decision.
This student, who goes by Yang, had been accepted into four medical programs: National Yang-Ming Chiao-Tung University, Taipei Medical University, Chung Shan Medical University, and China Medical University, proudly displaying their achievements on social media. However, recent allegations surfaced online suggesting that their application materials may have been exaggerated, sparking significant discussion. Following the revoking of admissions from the other three schools, China Medical University met on the 6th to finalize their decision to cancel the acceptance.
China Medical University stated that the student's submitted educational history raised serious questions about its accuracy. The Medical School Admissions Committee had previously met on the 5th and resolved to disregard the written evaluation scores and revoke the admission. On the 6th, the university's admissions committee reviewed the matter again, officially passing the formal revocation. The university elaborated that they would follow their admissions guidelines, indicating that if Yang wished to contest the decision, they must submit a written appeal within 10 days, with a response guaranteed within 30 days to protect the student's rights.
The incident has created widespread attention, with many online commenting on the repercussions of failing to maintain honesty in the admissions process. Whether Yang will pursue the appeal or seek alternative educational opportunities remains to be seen.
