Colombia Earthquake: 6.5 magnitude tremor near Bogotá prompts residents to flee to streets
According to Reuters quoting the German Research Centre for Geosciences, a 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck near Bogotá, Colombia at 8:08 AM local time on the morning of the 8th, with a depth of just 10 kilometers. The tremor was felt in Bogotá as well as neighboring provinces of Antioquia and Santander. Due to the proximity of the epicenter to the city, residents experienced significant shaking and many took to the streets to evacuate. Currently, there are no reports of major casualties.
