First Meeting of China-US Economic and Trade Consultation Mechanism Held in London

Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng met with US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen last month in Switzerland. According to reports from Chinese state media Xinhua and CCTV, He Lifeng, a member of the CPC Central Political Bureau and Vice Premier, held the inaugural meeting of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism with US representatives in London on June 9.
This meeting marks the resumption of trade dialogue between the two countries, focusing on key issues such as tariffs, rare earths, export controls, US debt, exchange rates, and visas. Analysts believe that, given the complexity of these issues, the meeting may not yield any breakthrough results.
