Israel Launches Major Airstrikes Against Iran, Targets Nuclear Facilities

Israel has conducted a large-scale airstrike, deploying 200 aircraft in what is considered the most extensive operation against Iran since the 1980s. The strikes targeted Iran's Natanz nuclear facility and reportedly killed three senior Iranian military officials, including the chief of staff and air force commander, aiming to incapacitate Iran's nuclear capabilities.
Following the initial wave of attacks, the Israeli military executed a second strike against ten locations in northwestern Iran, including military bases and airports. U.S. President Trump has commented that the strikes were "very successful," urging Iran to quickly reach a nuclear agreement with the United States.
Residents in Tehran reported hearing explosions and witnessing destruction, with buildings in flames and emergency services responding to the chaos. Notably, the Natanz facility was also seen engulfed in flames and smoke.
Israel confirmed that the operation was named "Awakening Lion," aimed at countering the nuclear threat posed by Iran. Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that Iran possesses the capability to produce nuclear warheads and emphasized the need for preemptive action.
The Israeli strikes targeted over 100 locations, including the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard in Tehran and key uranium enrichment sites. There are growing international concerns over the escalation of conflict following these developments.
