EU Provides €1 Billion in Aid to Ukraine to Strengthen Resistance Against Russia

The European Union (EU) announced on the 13th that it will provide an additional €1 billion (approximately NT$34.7 billion) in aid to Ukraine, demonstrating its commitment to support its ally. This funding will come from the proceeds of assets frozen in Europe belonging to the Russian central bank, aimed at enhancing Ukraine's self-defense capabilities. Since the outbreak of the Ukraine-Russia war in February 2022, the EU has provided a total of €150 billion in assistance to Ukraine.
On the same day, Ukraine confirmed the return of 1,200 deceased soldiers’ bodies from Russia and completed the latest round of prisoner exchanges with 1,200 prisoners swapped between both sides, laying the groundwork for potential future negotiations.
