Tokyo's Popular Steakhouse The Oak Door Takes Over at Grand Hyatt Taipei! Experience Exquisite Beef Steak and Crab Cakes

A must-try for meat lovers! Known as 'the most charming steakhouse in Tokyo,' The Oak Door, located in the Grand Hyatt Tokyo, has been a landmark of fine dining since its opening in 2003, blending local ingredients with high-quality cuisine. Chef Tim Larime makes his first appearance in Taipei, collaborating with Chef Lo Wei-Chou from the Grand Hyatt Taipei to offer a culinary feast that will captivate food enthusiasts.

Chef Tim Larimer, a California native, joined Grand Hyatt Tokyo in 2012 and was appointed head chef of The Oak Door in 2021. He focuses on integrating the passionate elements of Mexican and Californian cuisine, European delicacy, and the spirit of seasonal ingredients from Japan, presenting dishes that emphasize high quality and purity. After three months of preparation, this collaboration showcases unique ingredients by incorporating Mexico's Ancho chili and using local Taiwanese grass-fed beef.

The Grand Hyatt Taipei's Bel Air restaurant is hosting the 'Fiery Aroma and Artistic Feast' event from now until June 30. One of the highlights is the classic Maryland crab cake, renowned as 'Tokyo's best crab cake' featuring a combination of king crab and Maryland crab meat. It's pan-fried to a golden crisp, delivering an incredible American crab flavor.

Next up is the 'Teppanyaki Hokkaido Scallop' that offers a feast for the senses! The scallops are seared to a medium-rare and then showcased on a hot plate, emitting an enticing aroma of melted butter. Don’t forget to dip the bread into the sauce for an unexpected delicious pairing.

Featuring South American flavors, the 'Slow-Braised Beef Cheek' has been adapted by the two chefs using local Taiwanese beef, creating a tender texture complemented by the unique heat and aroma of the Ancho chili, reminiscent of spicy preserved fruit.

Completing the dinner with 'Hokkaido F1 Red House Steak,' this classic dish showcases the pure seasoning technique of The Oak Door, featuring perfectly cooked steak with just salt and black pepper, coupled with three special dipping sauces to enhance flavor. Desserts vary between lunch and dinner, and traditional table-side service is maintained for increased guest interaction. During this promotion, patrons who order any exclusive set menu stand a chance to win a two-night stay at the 'Grand Hyatt Tokyo.'
