African Swine Fever Detected in Floating Pig in Kinmen Bans Pork Products Until June 23

A floating dead pig was found on June 14 at Jin Ning Ci Ti, Kinmen, and tested positive for African swine fever virus. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, from today until June 23, pork and related products from Kinmen will be banned from being exported to Taiwan's main island and other offshore islands. Strict cleaning and disinfection measures have been implemented.

The veterinary report indicated that there are 25 pig farms within a 10-kilometer radius of the dead pig, housing over 5,500 pigs, all of which are reported to be in good health. The Ministry urges farmers to comply with biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
