African Swine Fever Virus Detected in Kinmen's Floating Pig Carcass, Export Restrictions Imposed

The Kinmen County Government has announced that, following the first detection of the African Swine Fever virus in a floating dead pig, the Ministry of Agriculture has prohibited the export of pigs and related products from Kinmen to Taiwan and other islands from now until June 23.
However, producers and products that pass the risk assessment by the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine will not be subject to this restriction. This list includes 16 companies producing beef (pork) jerky, such as Shengzu Co., Ltd. and Qiao'an Farm Co., Ltd.
Additionally, there are 8 companies producing meat floss candy and 11 businesses making pork (beef) filled pastries. The Kinmen County Epidemic Prevention Institute urges local compliance with government disease prevention measures to enhance awareness and block the spread of the African Swine Fever.
