American Workers' Awareness and Concerns about AI in the Workplace

According to the latest report from Gallup, the adoption rate of artificial intelligence (AI) in American workplaces has surged in the past two years, with 40% of workers now reporting the use of AI technologies at work. This figure has nearly doubled from 19% in 2023, representing a growth of 111%.
The survey was conducted from December 2024 to January 2025, involving 1,021 full-time and part-time employees, reflecting the rapid penetration of AI technologies in the U.S. market. The Trump administration aims to reinforce the AI industry through policy and has swiftly prioritized AI issues in its governance agenda.
Despite the growing application of AI, only 15% of respondents expressed concern that AI might replace their jobs in the next five years. In contrast, workers in manufacturing and customer service sectors showed higher sensitivity to this threat.
The survey also revealed that many employees using AI tools are unclear about their purpose and benefits, with only 16% agreeing that the AI tools provided by their employers are indeed useful. This low percentage indicates that there is room for improvement in how companies implement and train employees in AI technologies.
