Trump Administration Extends TikTok's U.S. Operations for Another 90 Days

The Trump administration has signed a new executive order to extend TikTok's U.S. operations for an additional 90 days, following a prior extension of 75 days announced in early April. This action comes as the previous deadline approaches expiration.

Since January, the Trump administration has granted TikTok's U.S. business three opportunities for extension, keeping it free from the Biden administration's requirement to either sell or face a ban. TikTok app has been restored on the U.S. App Store and Google Play Store. A White House spokesperson stated that President Trump does not want TikTok to completely cease operations in the U.S., allowing the company 90 extra days to find a suitable buyer and ensure that American users can safely enjoy TikTok's services.

Notably, there are rumors that Amazon is interested in acquiring TikTok's U.S. business and has initiated discussions. Additionally, several parties, including YouTuber 'MrBeast' and a bidding team led by Reddit co-founder and former Dodgers owner, are reportedly interested in the acquisition.
