Chinese Team Falls to Japan, Misses Out on B Group Championship, Set to Face Korea in Semifinals

In the 2025 World Little League Baseball 50/70 Asia-Pacific and Middle East Qualifiers, the Chinese team lost to Japan with a score of 1:7, forfeiting the chance to claim the B Group championship. Japan completed a three-game winning streak, securing the top position in B Group. The turning point of the match came in the first inning when the Chinese team failed to capitalize on a bases-loaded situation, subsequently allowing Japan to take the lead and score in successive innings. Despite numerous threats to score, the Chinese team couldn't breach Japan's defense.
Regarding the match outcome, Japan's head coach Takayuki Ikeki stated that the first inning was the key to victory, emphasizing the players' strong mental composure and effective execution of their regular training.
