Holders of Taiwanese Passport Can Enjoy 14-Day Visa-Free Stay in the Philippines Starting July 1

The new Taiwanese passport brings good news for travelers! The Philippine government announced on June 19, 2025, that starting from July 1, 2025, holders of Taiwanese passports can enter the Philippines without a visa for a stay of up to 14 days. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed sincere welcome for this development.

Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung announced on June 13 at the Philippines' National Day reception that the visa exemption for Filipinos visiting Taiwan would be extended for another year. This arrangement is based on reciprocal terms and will enhance exchanges and cooperation between Taiwan and the Philippines in various fields such as trade, investment, and tourism.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that this policy is the result of years of active negotiations between the two governments and is a testament to the collective efforts of various government departments and the Taiwanese public. The Foreign Minister also commended the Philippine government for its pragmatic approach to advancing Taiwan-Philippines relations. Furthermore, citizens are reminded to comply with local laws and ensure their safety while in the Philippines. In case of emergencies, please contact the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines or call the Ministry's emergency hotline.
