Putin and Xi Jinping Speak by Phone, Jointly Condemn Israel's Attacks on Iran

As the conflict between Israel and Iran escalates, Russian President Vladimir Putin was approached by reporters on the 19th regarding the potential assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader by Israel, which he declined to comment on. However, in the afternoon of the same day, he spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping, with both leaders jointly condemning Israel's attacks on Iran.
During their conversation, Putin and Xi agreed on the need to actively work towards 'de-escalation,' emphasizing the importance of maintaining regional peace and stability. Putin stated that Israel's assault on Iran's nuclear facilities was very dangerous and that escalating conflicts do not serve the interests of any party; he insisted that the issue of Iran's nuclear capabilities should be resolved through dialogue.
Moreover, during a press conference, when questioned about the possibility of Israel assassinating Iranian leaders, Putin avoided a direct answer, emphasizing that the Iranian people are currently united under the Tehran regime.
Regarding the situation in Ukraine, Putin expressed strong opposition to Germany's potential provision of 'Taurus missiles' to Ukraine, threatening that such actions would be equivalent to entering the war. With NATO member nations potentially achieving the goal of defense spending at 2% of GDP this year, Putin claimed that NATO's rearmament does not pose a threat to Russia and also refused to engage in face-to-face talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to negotiate a ceasefire.
