Tragic Balloon Accident in Brazil Claims at Least Eight Lives

A hot air balloon accident occurred on the 21st in Santa Catarina, Brazil, leading to a tragic crash that resulted in at least eight fatalities. The balloon caught fire while in the air, quickly turning into a fireball before plummeting to the ground.
According to CNN, the state governor, Jorginho Mello, expressed shock over the incident in a post on the social media platform X, stating, “The balloon accident in the Praia Grande area this Saturday morning has left us all shaken. Our rescue teams have already arrived on the scene… We have confirmed that eight people have died, while two have survived.”
Preliminary information indicates that there were 22 people aboard the hot air balloon, and rescue personnel are still searching for other passengers.
Videos circulating on social media show the hot air balloon on fire in the sky, rapidly deflating and crashing to the ground.
