Pakistan Nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize, Acknowledging His Role in India-Pakistan Ceasefire

The Pakistani government announced on the 21st that it would nominate former U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, recognizing his efforts in facilitating a recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
Reports indicate that Trump brokered an end to a four-day military conflict between India and Pakistan in May this year, claiming that his intervention successfully avoided a nuclear crisis and saved millions of lives, expressing dissatisfaction over not receiving the due recognition.
Pakistani officials support this view, stating that Trump demonstrated strategic foresight and political acumen, alleviating a rapidly deteriorating situation through strong diplomatic engagements. They believe his intervention validates his role as a genuine peace envoy.
Mushahid Hussain, former chairman of Pakistan's Senate Defense Committee, also commented that it is reasonable to nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, noting that many European leaders have praised him.
On the same day, Trump took to his social media platform to list various conflicts he helped resolve, including easing tensions between India and Pakistan, and facilitating the Abraham Accords between Israel and various Muslim countries. He expressed frustration that no matter what he did, he seems perpetually destined to miss out on the Nobel Peace Prize.
