Han Kuo-yu: Ruling Party's Push for Recall Elections is a Step Back for Democracy, Urges Support for Lu Yu-ling

Lu Yu-ling, a legislator from Taoyuan City, is facing a recall election. Tonight, she held a policy briefing at the Yongguang Civic Activity Center in Pingzhen District, with Legislative Yuan President Han Kuo-yu and Blue Party legislator Wang Yu-min in attendance to show their support. Han criticized the ruling party's move to push for comprehensive recall elections, stating that this is not a step forward for democracy, but a regression. He called on voters to cast negative votes, emphasizing that Lu has been diligent in her duties and has fought for much funding for her constituents.
Han pointed out that every time guests visit the Legislative Yuan or meet the president, they proclaim that 'Taiwan's democracy is the asset of all citizens.' However, the ruling party is pushing for comprehensive recall actions, which he believes is detrimental to democracy. He urged locals to vote, support Lu Yu-ling, and stressed the need for a capable legislator to continue serving the community.
