Taiwan-Vietnam Cup Football Tournament Kicks Off with Enthusiasm

The 2025 Taiwan-Vietnam Cup Football Tournament kicked off in the southern region at the Nanzi Football Field in Kaohsiung on the 29th, marking one of the largest Vietnamese cultural and sports exchange events in Taiwan. Organized by the Taiwan-Vietnam New Immigrant Care Association, it attracted 24 teams and nearly 600 enthusiastic participants from northern, central, and southern regions, including new immigrants, migrant workers, and foreign students, showcasing the solidarity and vibrant spirit of the Vietnamese community in Taiwan.

Spanning seven days, the tournament will feature regional matches held in Taichung, Taoyuan, and Kaohsiung, culminating in the final showdown at the football field in Xitun, Taichung. The event will also incorporate an 'International Cuisine and Cultural Market' to further showcase the diverse lifestyles of the Vietnamese community in Taiwan, with real-time Vietnamese language broadcasts and online streaming available throughout the event.

Chairman Guo Qirui of the Taiwan-Vietnam New Immigrant Care Association stated that the association has long been dedicated to assisting Vietnamese new immigrants, migrant workers, and students in Taiwan by establishing support networks through vocational training, employment counseling, and cultural activities. Organizing the Taiwan-Vietnam Cup is a vital component of continuing their caring mission, promoting cultural integration, enhancing community participation, and improving the quality of life.

Vice Chairman Xie added that this was the second year of the tournament, which received significant acclaim last year, allowing the Vietnamese community across Taiwan to engage with each other through football. VT-CUP 2025 Chairman Nguyen Hong Su thanked everyone for their support and wished for the event’s successful completion. Kaohsiung City Councilor Li Yahui also attended the opening, actively promoting sports and cultural development in the North Kaohsiung area and proposing the development of Zuoying and Nanzi as a core hub for the 'new sports economy'.
