Taiwan's Ministry of Education Delegation Visits Palau to Promote Sports Diplomacy

Vice Minister of Education Chang Liao-Wan-Chien and Director General of the Sports Administration Zheng Shih-Chung visited Palau from June 28 to July 2 at the invitation of the Palau National Olympic Committee to participate in the 12th Pacific Mini Games and meet with President H.E. Surangel Whipps Jr. This visit solidifies the sports cooperation between Taiwan and Palau and demonstrates the deep friendship between the two nations.

The 12th Pacific Mini Games will be held in Palau from June 29 to July 9. Since 2023, the Sports Administration has been assisting Palaun athletes by facilitating their archery and swimming teams to train in Taiwan. During the visit, Vice Minister Chang thanked President Whipps and shared his experience of leading a baseball team to Palau 20 years ago.
He emphasized Taiwan's long-term commitment to educational and sports cooperation and expressed intention to continue promoting higher education collaboration between the two nations.
This meeting enhanced the cooperation between both parties regarding educational and sports policies, paving the way for future collaboration.
