Gao Yiling Wins Best Actress, Wan Luo is Best Actor
The 27th Taipei Film Festival was grandly held at the Zhongshan Hall, announcing its winners. The Best Actor award went to Wan Luo Longanga for his performance in White Dogs, making him the first foreign Best Actor in the festival's history. The Best Actress award was won by Gao Yiling for her role in My Family's Affairs, delivering a moving performance that resonated deeply with the audience.
Gao's portrayal of a traditional Taiwanese mother’s repression and inner struggles struck a chord, allowing her to beat competitors like Sylvia Chang and others to claim the title of the new Best Actress. In her backstage interview, she expressed heartfelt gratitude for her family's support, stating she never expected to win.
Wan Luo expressed his passion for acting, thanking White Dogs for giving him a renewed sense of purpose and looking forward to acting in Taiwan again.
