Jian Shu-Pei Questions Mayor Chiang Wan-An on External Supervisory Issues
During a Taipei City Council session, City Councilor Jian Shu-Pei questioned Mayor Chiang Wan-An about the abuse case involving babysitters Liu Tsai-Hsuan and Liu Jo-Lin, emphasizing that three children were abused in September 2023, and pointing out that the center's monitoring staff failed to detect the abuse. She asked Chiang, "Don't you think this is problematic? Is this monitoring effective?" Social Affairs Commissioner Yao Shu-Wen responded that strict penalties had been imposed according to the Child and Youth Welfare Law.
Councilor Chong Pei-Jun also raised inquiries about the monitoring staff, asking for the name of the external supervisor. Yao confirmed it was Lin Yue-Qin, while Chong emphasized the importance of external supervision and called for more careful selection of supervisors in future contracts.
