Hsinchu County's AIoT Accelerator Enters Fourth Stage to Expand into Southeast Asia

The Director of Education for Hsinchu County, Yang Jun-Tzu, expressed hopes to cultivate startups with a dual approach led by larger enterprises and entrepreneurial mentors.

The 'Hsinchu AIoT Accelerator,' a joint initiative with StarFab Accelerator, has entered its fourth stage, leading five startup teams to the largest startup exhibition in Asia, InnoVEX, on the 22nd. They hosted an event themed 'AI Hsinchu County: Expanding International Linkages,' focusing on AI trends and international market strategies.

This event invited Southeast Asian funds, KPMG, and Jelen Intelligent Technology to discuss how to aid startups in expanding into Southeast Asian markets with government support.

Hsinchu County Mayor Yang Wen-Ke stated that Hsinchu boasts a complete technology supply chain, being a vital tech hub that competes from semiconductor design and manufacturing to systems integration. Since the AIoT Accelerator's launch in 2022, over 80 domestic and international startups have joined, leading to partnerships among over 30 startups and 13 larger companies.

The mayor stated hopes to leverage the accelerator platform to mold Hsinchu into an international stage for youth entrepreneurship, assisting startups in starting locally and advancing globally.

Li Yan-Shu, founder of the Southeast Asian fund, pointed out the high potential of the Southeast Asian market, which features reasonable valuations and an improving investment climate, making it a key option for startups looking to expand overseas. He also announced plans for a selection process for promising teams to visit Singapore together with the Hsinchu AIoT Accelerator.

KPMG’s Indonesian accountant, Yeh Jian-Liang, elaborated on the advantages of the Southeast Asian market, highlighting rapid economic growth, government incentives for investment, and a high demand for digital transformation, providing rich opportunities for startups.

Additionally, Jelen Intelligent's co-founder Huang Jian-Hao shared real-world experiences on how to successfully enter markets in Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam through AI technology in cooperation with local system integrators.

Yang Jun-Tzu, the Director of Education, added that the county government will continue to assist startup teams in participating in overseas exhibitions and business matchmaking, reducing barriers to market entry and accelerating their pace into international markets.

This year’s accelerator has also invited companies such as Zhongqiang Optoelectronics, Qiding Technology, and Google to provide resources, technology, and market support, creating a platform for youth entrepreneurship titled 'Youth Innovation Points and Bamboo Dreams Become Gold.'

The application for the Hsinchu AIoT Accelerator is now open, with a deadline of May 29, 2025, at 23:59. For details, please visit the 'Hsinchu Youth Startup Resource Network (HYS)' or fill out the application system.
