Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council Clarifies: Ouyang Nana's Nationality Cancellation is False

Recently, a video circulating online claimed that the Taiwanese government had revoked artist Ouyang Nana's nationality and banned her from entering Taiwan for life. The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) responded yesterday, confirming that the video's content is false and maliciously fabricated, aimed at undermining public trust in the government.
The video alleges that Ouyang Nana was sanctioned for reposting pro-unification statements during military exercises in mainland China, resulting in the revocation of her nationality and other severe penalties. In response, the MAC clearly stated that no such actions have been taken against any artist, labeling the video's content as false and urging the public not to trust or forward it.
The MAC emphasized that a small number of Taiwanese artists cooperating with the Chinese government to undermine Taiwan's sovereignty have crossed societal red lines, and that ongoing investigations will adhere to legal standards to protect Taiwan's democratic freedoms.
