NVIDIA H20 Ban Leads to $15 Billion Loss? 郭正亮 Reveals Huang Jen-Hsun's Calculations

NVIDIA CEO Huang Jen-Hsun criticized the Trump administration's ban on chip exports to China during the Taipei International Computer Exhibition, asserting it is bound to fail. Former legislator 郭正亮 stated on the online program "大大平評理" that Huang estimates that the H20 will see a maximum of three years of sales in China, translating to an annual loss of $5 billion, resulting in a total loss of $15 billion for NVIDIA.

郭正亮 noted that while the H100 was already banned from sales, it could still be found in China through re-export trade. He also mentioned President Trump’s plan to establish a second AI center in the UAE, which faces opposition from U.S. establishment factions due to ongoing concerns about re-export trade.

Regarding the H20, he pointed out that it was originally sellable but was suddenly banned, and Huang believes that within three years, it could be completely replaced by competitors like Huawei. He emphasized that while Huawei has already caught up in certain functions, NVIDIA still maintains an overall performance advantage.

Furthermore, 郭正亮 indicated that China has now introduced a foreign sanctions law in response to U.S. actions, which could lead to reciprocal measures against companies cooperating with the U.S., such as banning sales of Chinese products to the U.S.
