Laid Chein-te Attends European Dinner, Emphasizes Taiwan's Cooperation with Democratic Partners to Build 'Non-Red Supply Chain'

President Lai Ching-te attended the 2025 European dinner and highlighted the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and investment relations between Taiwan and Europe. He called for the signing of the Taiwan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement to provide a transparent and stable business environment through innovative means.
Lai expressed Taiwan's commitment to collaborating with democratic nations, including those in Europe, to develop a resilient 'non-red supply chain', crucial for promoting freedom and democracy as well as economic development. He also referred to this year as the 75th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, which embodies the spirit of peace and democracy.
Furthermore, Lai pointed out Taiwan's vital role in global economic trade, especially in the semiconductor industry. He expressed gratitude for the continued support from the EU and various countries regarding peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
