Bank Clerk's Oversight Leads to Theft of 3.87 Million

A report from Taipei by Wu Ren-yu and Zhuang Bo-hua states that on the eve of the Dragon Boat Festival on the 29th, a clerk from the Bank of Taiwan unwittingly left a bag containing 3.87 million in cash at the entrance of the NTU hospital retail area, stepping away into the office. A suspect seized the opportunity, snatched the bag, and fled by bus. Police have launched a manhunt, and the bank has committed to fully assisting in the investigation.

Details reveal that the clerk had collected that day's operational cash at the hospital and carelessly left it unattended, unaware of the security risk. The investigation shows the suspect operated with deftness, even changing clothes multiple times to evade detection while escaping. The Zhongzheng District police stated that they would continue examining surveillance footage to break the case as quickly as possible.
