The trade war initiated by U.S. President Trump continues, and due to the presidential system, there seems to be no one able to stop him, including Congress and the judiciary. Former legislator Kuo Cheng-liang pointed out that the trade war has already caused the GDP to shrink by 0.2% in the first quarter, indicating harm to the U.S. economy.

During an appearance on the program "Crossfire," Kuo emphasized that while former British Prime Minister Truss was promptly replaced due to issues stemming from the cabinet system, Trump's policies, with only 40% support, cannot be challenged in the United States. He criticized the significant problem within the U.S. political system.

Kuo questioned how the separation of powers in the U.S. is ineffective against Trump, highlighting that both Congress and the judiciary seem powerless to stop him. He warned that Trump's policies might lead to recurring economic crises, stock market fluctuations, and dollar depreciation.

Despite the Republican Party's slight lead in Congress, Kuo stated that even if some members defect from the party, it remains unable to restrain Trump.
