South Korea held its presidential election on June 3, and Lee Jae-myung from the Democratic Party has been elected as the 21st president. According to Korean media 'KBS', as of 2:30 AM KST (1:30 AM Taiwan time) on June 4, Lee secured 48.8% of the votes, with a total of 2.18 million votes remaining.
This election marks the first government transition in South Korea in three years.
