KMT's Recall Attempts Against Chen Ying and Wu Li-hua Fail Due to Late Submission

According to reports from the political center, KMT Chairman Eric Chu initiated a recall movement earlier this year targeting indigenous legislators Chen Ying and Wu Li-hua from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). However, due to a controversy involving death signatures within the Kaohsiung County Party, the submission deadline of May 31 for the recall efforts was not met. The Central Election Commission confirmed it did not receive the necessary documents, declaring the recall efforts unsuccessful due to the late submission.
In mid-May, the KMT's Kaohsiung County Party was searched as part of an investigation regarding the recall movement, facing accusations of death signatures and document forgery. Ultimately, the recall attempts for both Chen Ying and Wu Li-hua were declared invalid as they did not meet the required submission timeline.
Both legislators voiced their opposition to these improper recall attempts and criticized Chairman Eric Chu, demanding an apology and emphasizing the need for judicial accountability to defend the dignity of indigenous peoples.
