Haubei Fangrong Rice Factory Makes Historic Entry into Japan with Export of 25 Containers of White Rice

The Fangrong Rice Factory in Haubei District, Tainan, has made its first-ever export of high-quality white rice to Japan, totaling 25 containers and 500 tons this year. A sealing ceremony was held recently, witnessed by officials from the agricultural authority and local government.

Notable attendees included Lai Ming-yang, Director of the Southern Regional Office of the Agricultural and Food Agency, Chen Yu-chu, Director of the Tainan Agricultural Research and Extension Station, and Mayor Huang Wei-che among others. Japanese dignitaries, including Tokunaga Shingo, President of Kuriyah Co., also graced the occasion.

Mayor Huang noted that despite Japan's strict import regulations on rice, the current shortage in the Japanese market has led to increased procurement from Taiwan. The white rice from Fangrong Rice Factory has passed all pesticide residue checks, allowing Japanese consumers to enjoy high-quality rice from Tainan.

CEO Huang Li-chin mentioned that the factory has been collaborating with farmers for over two decades, enhancing rice quality and successfully entering the Japanese market, with support from the Tainan Agricultural Research Institute playing a crucial role.
