North Korea Claims New Destroyer Upright After Two Weeks Post Incident

North Korean state media reported on the 6th that the new naval destroyer, which had tilted during last month's launching ceremony, is now upright and docked, awaiting repairs. According to reports, during the launching of the 5000-ton destroyer, a significant accident occurred due to command errors, resulting in loss of balance and a breach in the hull.
Kim Jong Un strongly condemned the incident, labeling it as a "criminal act caused by extreme negligence" and quickly arrested four officials. North Korea stated that the vessel regained its balance at the beginning of June, and initial inspections indicated that the damage was not as severe as expected. A team of experts will conduct further inspections and initiate restoration efforts, aiming to complete repairs before the full meeting of the Workers' Party Central Committee this month.
