Two Female Students from Taichung Rescued from Cambodia, Safe Return to Taiwan

Two university students from Taichung went to Cambodia for work in March but were tragically imprisoned and treated like pawns. One student sent an SOS via text message to her family, prompting her grandfather to send NT$136,000 for her rescue, but it appeared that they fell victim to a scam, leading them to turn to the police for assistance.
With the dedicated efforts of private rescue organizations along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Criminal Investigation Bureau, the two students were successfully rescued and returned to Taiwan earlier today.
